| Both of our Beardies have decided to stop eating. Our Vet gave them Panacur for internal parasites, thinking that might be the reason they won't eat. But, they still refuse even their favorite worms. The adult female will eat a cricket or two a day. But the juvenile male will not eat his crickets or veggies. Yesterday I managed to get the male to eat about eight small mealworms but that's it. Both Beardies are still very active, they will run around on the floor exploring. Our vet told us to take them outside in the sun. He said that might stimulate their appetite. And while they do like basking in the natural sunlight, so far it hasn't done a thing to get them eating again. Please, I'm very worried about them. Our vet is at a loss as to why they won't eat. If anyone has gone through this with their Beardies or, is going through this right now, please help us out! If this keeps up much longer, the juvenile male will begin losing weight.Right now he weighs 278 grams. He's 6 months old.

Well, i am stumped too. Have you tried to add a smelly solid or liquid something on top. I know for blue tongue skinks you put fish oil on the food to try to get them to eat. But make sure beardies can have it.

| Sometime they acted like this if they are dehydrated or constipated, try placing them in a shallow pan of warm water.

One of my leos recently stopped eating and to get them to eat again i had to take her to the vet and get her force fed and that stimulated her appetite. So maybe you could take her to the vet and try that.

| Thanks for the replies! 1. The juvenile poops, just not much because he doesn't eat much. 2. Our vet will force feed him if necessary. We're just trying to avoid it if at all possible. 3. The type of UV light we're using is: Exo-Terra Repti Glo, 10.0 UVB. 13w. It's brand new. The reptile shop we buy from tests each bulb to make sure they put out the right UVB strength. But we put in a brand new bulb just in case! Today (7-4-08) The juvenile ate 6 crickets! The two year old female's appetite has picked up too. Do Bearded Dragons eat less in the summer? I'm just wondering because they both ate like crazy when it was cooler out. We keep our house about 74 degrees F with central air.And if it gets really hot outside,we run ceiling fans too. Any more tips ??

you should give them some wax worms because they are high in fat so they are a nice pick-up for a herp that has not eaten in a while.
