Will these AMAZING turtles become legal and more popular pets in the future?  I have heard that they are not endangered, just isolated in one area and very friendly.  What do you think?

I hope so, they are really amazing i want a breeding pair.

i think that exports have been made illegal, so the captives will have to do.

I live for what Steve Irwin stood for. If the world was full of people like him, it would be a better place.

These things get HUGE.  Short of having a heated swimming pool, it would be hard to care for a breeding pair.

they are illegal in US
I have a hatchling i put in a 20 gal tank
i think in the Philippines they are legal

These ARE endangered turtles. Although there are many in captivity, there would be nothing wrong with starting captive colonies for the pet trade. Make sure if you buy to inquire if it's captive bred!
