I am looking for two baby red sliders. I live in Indiana and can not find any around here. I have found several sites where I can adopt them but the shipping is very high. Does any one know of any place I can find any in around here to adopt?

Red-eared sliders are considerd a native species in Indiana, and as such, illegal to sell in the state.  Try the rescue INdiana Turtle Care - I don't know if they get juveniles, but they might have RES to adopt.  Keep in mind that you'll need 10 gallons per inch of turtle when they're adults, so one adult could need 75 gallons or more.  A fenced-in backyard pond of at least 300 gallons is ideal.  Some rescues only charge for shipping, but for a one pound box, that could be up to $30 for next day by noon shipping.  If you live near an airport, some groups will use Delta Dash, and it's usually cheaper than DHL, and it's same day shipping, but both parties would have to drop off/pick up from an airport.
