I just wonder why they would not want people taking them if they are going to do the right thing with the animals.

The park staff can't count on people differentiating between pythons and other snakes, plus they can't take responsibility for encouraging citizens to mess with wildlife and possibly get hurt in the process.

Thanks again for the comments.  When I saw the 'SOUTH FLORIDA SUMMER HERPING' title up, I quick clicked it hoping it was a new post from someone else who'd been down here herping.

I go to Florida every year for a week like an hour away from Tampa. Not sure if thats considered south florida though but every time I am outside I try to look around for lizards and snakes and stuff. When young I remember seeing a rattle snake on the unbusy road and I was riding a bike.Really cool. Then I was talking next to a little tree not taller then me and a coral snake was laying there. Then all I see is a bunch of different type of anoles. One time I saved a baby gecko from getting steped on,poor little guy had a smashed leg so I picked him up and put him where people would not go.
