| ok..the bigger turtle..just keeps getting bigger (so that's good news). the smaller turtle is still tiny, and now he's kinda lethargic. i bought sticks and broke them into pieces, but i still think they're too big (even after they get mushy). so i bought even smaller sticks (apparently for baby turtles). hopefully this will work. i also tried a new kind of shrimp (the petstores in motown are different from the ones @ home). the tiny turtle loves the shrimp. how much is too much? should i only feed him shrimp every other day? any advice is appreciated thanks!

| What kind of lighting do you have on the tank? You should have a uvb and a uva light. Check your temps in the water and the basking area. I agree with the sticks as well and feeding them in a separate tank is also a good idea. I get the hatchling questions all the time where I work. We have a twice monthly reptile swap in our area, that you can get hatchling all day and they don't say a thing. I think one vendor does have a sign that says they are for educational or research only but they don't say anything if you went there and buy them. I've heard that you can get them at flea markets and in Chinatown in Chicago.

| No. Julia is very easy to care for. She is not my first Russian tortoise.I keep her out side in the summer and spring and then I bring her in for a short hibernation period,in the winter. My first Russian was stolen during a break in.
