| Just wondering what the best morph for a ball python would be for breeding. Such as what is the most popular.

| I will be starting to breed BPs in the near future so hopefully I can help you out. Well, your asking two completely different questions. What is the best to breed? Would really be up to you. Which one do you enjoy the most? I'd suggest starting with a cheaper morph, instead of instantly diving into the exspensive kinds and spending most of your money on animals. I'll be beginning with normal and pastels. What is the most common? Its easy-the normal or "wild" phase Ball Python.

Well, first of all, if you've never bred ball pythons, then I would start with the normal ball pythons and get some experince. Also, breeding morphs kinda of depends on the ball python. You have to have a bp with a het. trait. To figure that out you need a punnet square

Sorry for the bad punnet square. Well, this example shows the dominat het. trait on the top, which is the male. The mother Has a dominant trait, but also has a recesive, which some of her kids will have the same trait of hers, so if the parants have traits like these then they will all be albino, but lets say you want to breed the snake on the bottom left with a snake with a trait of tt, some of the offspring will be normal, some will be albino. I hope you get this.

Good point anole. You need to know about genetics (very complicated at first) before you attempt to breed any unusual morphs.

All very true. We are starting with 2 pastels, 1 bumblebee, 1 albino, and maybe 1 normal. Those are just this years breeders, next year we will have mojaves and bandeds on our list as well. Trust me when I say this... Start small!!!! Remember you will have to feed them and it gets expensive. We spend an average of $40 on just rats and mice a week.
