First, Atua has been displaying sluggish behavior lately. Does this mean anything.
Second, What size cage would you reccomend for a six inch crested gecko.

Current Collection
1.0 Rhacodactylus Ciliatus (Atua)
R.I.P.
Rhacodactylus Ciliatus (Bottecelli)
Aphonopelma eutylenum(Grape)

Could you be more specific? Cresteds do tend to slow down a bit during the winter, or at least mine do.  A 20 gallon or larger tank with a sliding screen top turned upright so that the screen is a door works great. My adult male and female are in a 18 x 18 x 18 Exo Terra. Taller is generally better.

Well she seems to be more slowed down then she normally is. I try my best to keep the temperature around 78 degrees.

OK i got a couple questions for you.

Have you seen it defecate lately and did the poop look funny??

Whats the diet?

Whats the humidity?

That said i think like ratsnake said and 18by18by18 tank would be great

Well, Crested Geckos are naturally slow-moving animals.  If she was hyper before, she may have been upset or unhealthy and is better now.  But she may just have a little cold or something, but it is not something I would rush to the vet about... unless something serious happens.

An 18 x 18 x 18 Exo Terra Glass Terrarium is what I use for my 5" Crested Gecko, and I will use that for his whole life.  A 20+ gallon high, 18 x 18 x 18 Exo Terra/Zoo Med, or a screen cage* will work fine.

* Only use a screen cage if you can keep the proper humidity.

Hope Atua is doing good!

GECKO DUDE (10/4/2008)
I wouldnt recommend a screen cage they dont hold in humidity that well.

My past Crested Gecko Bottecelli died because I used a screen cage. But I keep the humidity around 80%.

Rhacodactylus Ciliatus (Bottecelli)
