What is the difference between Reptiles USA and REPTILES Magazine?

also in the rewards, the frog and toad cards. What species are on the cards and do you get all of them?

When I tried to send an eCard, it said I was required to hit "yes" under sign up for newsletters. Why? Not to be mean, but what's the point in having the yes/no option if you aren't allowed to say no?

I was wondering if RC had like a reptile of the week i know there's reptile of the month and stuff,but why not a little section where you can chose from like 10 reptiles and whoever gets the most votes wins, no prize or nothin just the pride of winning, i know this is a LONG shot in the dark with a BB gun, but what the heck.

Maybe we should have a sick herptile forum. Instead of it all scattered around in lizard lounge, snake stuff, and amphibian arena. (And don't forget invertebrates!) It would give information at the source and people would get help when they need it.

What I think should be done for the adoption forum is that people who have stuff to adopt should post the topics. Not everyone post a topic saying that they can adopt peoples reptiles.

i think you should add a chat room for people to buy/sell their herps, instead of the classifieds. that way it would be easier for someone looking for a herp to chat with the breeder/customer.

RC Herp Club

It seems that everyone has forgotten how the RC herp club is supposed to work. We are supposed to be CYCLING through the list of members. In other words, every Monday a different member creates a new topic and it goes down the list. You're supposed to keep track of who posted last and so you know when it's your turn.

Apparently, some people have not been paying attention to when their turn is. It's more fun if we follow the rules, don't you think?

So i was wondering why your site (the reptile channel part not the forums) doesnt have a remember me button that would keep your email adress typed in in the log in page so you only have to type in your pass word.

Also i was curious about how to enter your reptile in the photo gallery, dont see anything to click on do you have to win something??

Anyway thanks in advance, i am sure these are easily answered questions so they might be a little silly but i figured i would ask.

no one seems very interested in answering, i guess its all good either way i was just wondering.

I know this is a bit offtopic and not so much to do with the forum, however I'd like to know what you guys think and if you can offer me any help:

I'm looking into trying to start a small business venture breeding select species of herps among other things in the herp trade. I'm a vet on unemployment, thus have no capitol of my own to invest. So, I'm in need of some grants. I searched online and came across Grantsgov.info and filled out an application. A few days later I got a call from a grant brokerage company called United Economic Agency. The representative told me I could qualify, when all is said in done for material, the herps themselves, an LLC, etc., for about 200,000 bucks in grants. This brokerage company, UEA, hires lawyers to find the grants for people thus charges a 375 buck fee for that (directly out of my account...). If for some reason I get denied for grants, they keep 49.95 of the money and refund the rest. I get no further info until I pay; I called a few times.

I checked them out with the BBB and they scored a C- due to not enough info, positive or negative. They haven't had any complaints in the last 36 months, but their address is not valid. So, I cancelled with them because I can't afford to get ripped off. I then looked at the Small Business Association of America's site and it sucked. It spoke of loans and really had nothing on grants (a grant means it's tax free money that I don't have to pay back; I'm enemployed and highly unlikely to get a loan...). So, I'm back to square one. I have some great, authtentically original ideas that I know are highly marketable, as are the herps I'd like to breed. I have the space in my home and, with my partner, am pretty much already set up to do so. Problem is the capitol... So, do you know where I might get some grants to fund this? Ideally, 10-20 grand would do. That would be plenty of start up. Oh, I'm working on a business plan as well to work out the details...

Interestingly enough (unless I looked it over somehow..), you don't have any of the Epicrates species on your profiles. The rainbow boas, especially Brazillian, have become quite popular. I believe the community would benefit from you adding that genus to the list!

have you considered a chatting system? sometimes members merely chat and use topic space (no offense or certain topics) and i like to chat with Lord of the frogs about just stuff and there are several topics he made that we are going through posting and trying to keep up with each other. just a suggestion that it might be neat to have to use for small talk

is it possible that the photo gallery could be organized so that you choose whether to view snakes, lizards, turtles/ tortoises, frogsand toads, newts and salamanders. or something of that nature? that way you can view amphbians or reptiles and then select a sub catergory and easily vote and view for fun

can maybe we have a new section just for monitors, because there are lots of people on here with monitors and i see that the forums are grouped into categories, general, beginner, amphibian, lizard, tort/turt, snake and bugs honestly this is the best forum i have come across yet, so cool, well organized and apropriatly monitored its the only one i will give any of my time, basically clean and smart... so i'm kinda thinking it isnt a possibility to add another forum for one type of lizards cause then we'd have to have one for everyone so i get it if you all laugh and say no never!!!, so like what i'm thinking though is we make a forum for big lizards, like iguanas and monitors or something... it'd be cool... maybe pointless to catagorize more but cool... maybe

I don't know if anybody's really noticed, but every ad on this site is for the "enlargement" pills. I don't think that's very appropriate for a site like this. I know you have to make money somehow, but I bet there's tons of animal-related companies willing to advertise here.

I think the comments sent by the site for things like "redeem your Holiday avatars" should be deleteable, even if just after a sudden amount of time (like once the holiday passes). Also I think the comment box for each persons page should be at the top of all of the comments or the top part of the page. Better for lazy people like me who hate scrolling.

Have a simple idea like these? Post it!!

Steam fourm(with special rules)

I had an idea for a forum where people got to blow off steam.There are special rules though.Here they are.

#1 No major fights

The definition of a "Major" fight would be one that has gotten from a small,easly resolveable disagreement to an argument.Arguments scale to fights then Blow-outs.Everyone is untitled to his/her own opinion and say if it offendes you then move on.

#2 All normal rules apply.

Obviously.

#3 No sex/other obsenities related steam-blows

If your problem has something to do with sex/other obssenities,please tell someone else.We have 11 year olds here.

That is all,if things need modifing,tell me.Hopfuly this will be posted and the special rules will be a thread that could not be posted on but had the info.Locked I guess.Thanks for reading.

Typo in REPTILES Magazine

In the "Into the Wild" Article of the january 2009 issue, the author makes a scientific name mistake. He said t he brown anoles scientific name was Norops sagrei, instead of Norops its Anolis. Has this mistake already been pointed out or not?
