Quotes

I don't know about everyone else, but I keep having trouble with the quotes. Many times when I quote something, it will show the code and makes the post look terribly jumbled. Am I doing something wrong or is this a problem with RC?

Changing Local Time?

this has been bothering me but how do you change your local time? It says that my local time is like 7:00 but its like 10:30 right now in new york?

Peoples signatures are getting a bit too long. Like MeganRM can you make maybe two of your pets to a line? I love to see other peoples collections, but only if they arent huge. And Opal, Can you take out the pics in ur sig because they make my computer slow. ok? I dont mean to be offensive but its a little annoying, and im sure other people agree. thanks and have an excelent reptile awareness day!!!

I've been lurking around the sight for the past couple of days and I'm noticing some things that are not too good.I'm a former member of the sight and have kept over 30 different species of reptiles, so I guess I can say I have a good amount of expierience.These forums are made for people who share a passion for keeping and for people looking to get in to the hobby.When I go through all the topics thats not what I'm seeing.Every time theres a new topic we get talking about how every one is fourteen and how they "breed" snakes or lizards, trying to breed something is different than actually breeding some thing.Then, I see that a person asks a question and dosent get a answer because someone wants to start up a conversation, this is NOT myspace.And also let me say dont encourage young people too start attempting to keep venomous reptiles because going out and hooking a little copperhead dosent mean its time too head out and buy a gabboon viper.I'm not trying too start problems or arguements I just think we all just need too get back on track and use this site appropriately.

Need to lay down some rules

I think we need to lay down some new rules on the off-topic discussion forum. More members spend their time on the off-topic discussion than posting on the other sub-forums that you have to offer. Other members are upset about this also, so please just say or do somthing about it.

Well, lately, the forum has seemed to be more of a chat room than a reptile forum. I see more Off-Topic Discussion topics than reptile related ones. And I don't think we need anymore forum games, as well.

Another thing is "text talking", lol, u, omg, ect. Text talking has never been appreciated on this forum, and I don't think it should that should stop now. Just type those extra two letters! It makes the forum look non-serious, and might drive away new members that could really contribute to the forum.

Penalize me....

Adoption Forum

The adoption forum section is getting ridiculous. Ninety-nine percent of the topics are people naively asking for someone to give them a certain reptile. They think by putting an ad saying they want a _____ reptile that it will magically appear on their doorstep for free.

The adoption forum needs to be turned in a classified or trade section where people can post want ads (to buy) and sell or trade reptiles. This "adoption" forum idea is not working out.

my Mac is having trouble uploading images on fourms, and on my sig.
i click on the img. button, nothing happens. i put in with a pic in the middle, and still nothing happens. drag and drop..... no luck.

so if some one has the "cure" please tell me..... im running out of options!!!

There are about five topics in the off-topic section of the forum on religion and evolution. These are becoming ridiculous, out-of-hand fights. I think that these topics should be deleted and posting religion- or evolution-based topics should be banned in the future.

A lot of times, I cant see the photos that are posted on the forums. Some I can see, but most of the time there is a little blue square with a question mark on it, or there is just an empty line between the words where the pic is supposed to be:

Question about mis-spelling of words

Ok I was reading a topic right know (and I won't say the name of the topic), and in this paticular topic, a couple of people were mis spelling words, and a couple of other people were insulting them or offensing them because they had some trouble spelling the words. And then, RM came in and told these group of people to use spell check. And i mean the people that were insulting the people that had diffucults with spelling could still read the mistakes in the words of their response, so heres my question:

Why is it such a big deal that some members on the forums don't use spell check?

I was wondering if it was possible to edit your e-mail. You know, like if you go to someone's profile, and you see their e-mail address? I got my own e-mail address now (The one I'm using is my mom's cause I didn't have an email account when I joined) So how do you change that so that when someone emails me from here, it appears in my email, not my mom's?
