I have no problem with on topic discussion either. The thread was about the best way of building a savannah monitor cage, not a debate on why people don't need a cage. I believe that to be off-topic. If they wanted to talk about that then danceswithsavs should have started their own thread on that matter instead of cluttering up the proper cage thread.

People are not banned "because they don't know the rules." We had a concern that we expressed to Yoshi to which he did not take action. Then he decided that he wanted to argue the situation and be rude to the moderators.

We have removed his posts via his and your request.

To this other situation. There is nothing in that forum that breaks our rules. These forums are for discussion. We want everyone out there to be free to post their opinion. That does not mean that everyone's opinion is correct, but it is the free exchange of ideas and opinions. If there is something that you disagree with, then voice your opinion to that topic. A rational, sourced argument will always stand above an incorrect one. The people on this forum are very smart and they will know when they are being told nonsense and when they aren't. Without multiple views and experiences, these forums would be quite dull.

That being said, if you feel that we are making an inappropriate call on this situation, please send an email to reptileeditor@reptilechannel.com and point out exactly what posts/sentences you feel are a violation and what rules they violate and we will revisit this.

Since Yoshi5111 was banned because he was unaware of all the rules, he asked me if I'd ask the R.M. to delete his postings under "Savannah monitor cage" in the Lizard Lounge. Thanks.

I know that danceswithsavs will become a problem because they wouldn't leave me alone and kept sending me nasty, vulgar, inappropriate messages on youtube. Therefore I had to block them. There is no way to stop people from replying to your posts on this forum, so that's why I have to get the R.M. involved.

Agreed, they should be deleted.

And anole, if someone is degrading the forum with accusations and off-topic content, you think that they should just let it keep happening? In order to mantain the forum at the high level that it currently sits, you need to take care of posts like these.
