How do i add pics?

Here's my Rough Green Snake outside. He was a pain to bring back in the house.

And a bunch of pictures of Bandit

I let him go on the counter and of course he went into hiding.

And here's my RES. He's loving the weather.

And this is not mine, but I saw this little guy while I was herping today. Very unexpected to see gators at that location, but this was the second one we saw, both were young.

Updated Caging

I'm always on here talking about how people should do their best to make a good looking natural terrarium when setting up a reptile cage, so I thought I'd share a few examples. The first picture is my frilled dragon cage. I just added the wall planter on the left side and it is filled with fast growing, vine-type plants that will hopefully fill out that wall eventually. There is also a sago palm, a philodendron on the floor and my pothos in a betta bowl next to the eyelash viper. Sorry there are no reptiles in the pic, but there are 2 frilled dragons in the cage.

The second pic is a much smaller cage that has my Gold Dust Day geckos in it. You can kind of see the nose of one in the top left corner. I just added the bromeliad that is now the focal point of the cage. The stick across the top is suction-cupped to each side of the cage to keep it in place.

Both cages are still works in progress and I'm always looking to improve them to make them look better. Rather than over planting everything, I'm trying to plant sparingly and let them grow out.
If anyone else has pictures of cages with live plants in them, post them here. I always like looking at other people's work and it may help people think of things they wouldn't have tried otherwise.

I know I'm not too active here, but I had to share this! I've waited years to get a blood - and he's finally here! From Kara at The Blood Cell (www.bloodpythons.com), he's 100% het albino, and he's gorgeous! We haven't named him yet, so suggestions are welcome. The first two pictures are of me holding him, and the rest are my husband; he's finally excited about a snake! The little guy didn't manage to bite either of us (yet), but he sure wanted to kill the camera!

Puerto rico

As some may know, I spent my thanksgiving in puerto rico visiting family
while there, I visited the Camuy caverns, Jobo beach, and a small part of the El Yunque Rainforest. Of course I took pictures everywhere I went...
This is going to be a very long thread.... with lots of picture updates as I work through them....

Starting with the Camuy Caverns. very large cave system and the one I visited was a nice hollywood style wide open cave. Amazing to see in person! Caves i have been in before were smaller... less... picturesque looking.
Walking into the caves this is one of the first sights from the outside.... an upside down tree

This deep crevice in the side of the cave was home to thousands of bats, Unfortunately didn't get to see any but you could hear them, even over the sound of the roaring underground river that created that crevice (which was so far down it was to dark to get a picture of)

On the other side of where we entered was a huge sky light, cliff face was easily a couple hundred feet or so up with the rain forest on top of that, You really can't see the size of it in the pic

Well when I finally got my milk snake back from my mentor he through in a little something extra... and she's pretty awesome >.>

she's been here almost a week now but was in shed when I got her so was letting her finish that before taking pics

but possibly even better.... in some strange way...
my grandparents also got me a snakey!!! For my birthday...

It is finally done.... they are FINALLY here! I have been working on this for so long and finally that work pays off!

hey everyone. i havent posted in a while. i want to show you me and my grandmas herps. enjoy!

first is my leopard gecko, jerry. he turned out to be a she, but the name stuck with her.

next we have tom the leopard gecko, who, like jerry, turned out to be a she.

here are my gandmas reptiles. fist up is leo the crested gecko. he was skittish around the camera, so i took a pic of him on my kitchen counter.

last but not least, my grannys kenyan sand boa, pirate. he was born with one eye, but is perfectly healthy.

She really is... This is the only known Snowy Owl in Oklahoma for whatever reason she decided to fly down here for the winter
and I got to see her!
This is from the highway where we stopped...completely zoomed in on my 300mm lense

Closer still! this is the closest I got actually and still on full zoom! Cropped to hell as well...

Another cropped up photo but still relatively good quality for the conditions...

Then I made one step to many and she moved a ways down the field.

But still beautiful even flying away

Ive come to the understanding that beardies come in a wide range of colors and morphs.. well, I was curious that if I was to upload our four girls, would someone be able to give me an idea on what to call each one? Ive heard so many unique and interesting color combos/names that I'd be tickled to know what to call ours when kids ask! Thanks!!

This guy has been a part of our family since 2006 when he jumped off our roof and landed on my wifes foot while we were outside smoking. He has been a very loving frog since the day we got him, right now we are keeping him in a Exo-Terra 18x18x24 tall terrarium 55%water 45% land floor with a waterfall and plenty of climbing limbs and hideouts. He will come out if you open the doors and jump onto you and not move for hours, there is something special about this little guy but he LOVES to be held. We kinda broke some ohio wildlife rules by bringing him in the house but we didnt know that until 2-3 years after having him and we couldnt turn him back into the wild we thought he would die. anyway here is our little buddy and his home.

Halloween Epicness!

Soooo I spent my entire day cooking halloween goodies! They are delicious! But I have yet to get around to the pumpkin seeds becuase my neighbors are holding them captive at their house >=/ ...soon my pretties.... soon....

Anyways... We will start from the outside in. in my apartment complex each unit shares a porch area with the one next to it. when you walk up the stairs and turn towards our porch (mine and my neighbors) this is the first thing you see

Walking through bloodied curtain you witness what happens to unsupervised trick or treaters.

These little wormies are tricky to get ahold of when if you provide them with plenty of cool moist soil they thrive in captivity, I even maned to catch a few of them lounging on the surface! (they are delicious btw)

this however... is something that we would generally toss out....

Kitty litter cake! tasty and gross all in one

And my favorite.... Nasty little buggers that feed on the flesh of zombies... but if you can catch one before it takes your face off they roast up REALLY nicely!!

but of course I know what this is *drool* Unfortunately i think this guy had some bad stomatitis as he brought his head up after i took this shot and his mouth was partially open and seemed rather swollen

I love geese! and we rarely got canada geese in any numbers where i was in fl. so it's fun to annoy the geese at the lake here >.>

Starting with Thor, the male bar neck scrub, he is always on the move wanting to be anywhere except where i want him

And his future girlfriend, Valkyrie...completely opposite in personality...she is an angry... ANGRY animal and always looks like she wants to take my face off...yet she never actually strikes.... is just very very cautious of me still.

We got Ghost & Drake on 7/1/11 and they are pretty happy in their 40-gallon terrarium. They like to swim in their pool area and have plenty of hiding places. We hold them a little bit each day and they are slowly getting used to us... they are approximately a year old (the wire you see in the photo of Drake sitting on moss is the wire from the digital temperature gauge - they don't chew on it or anything like that and I've since moved it out of the way a bit)

8/31/11 Update: Both are eating well and growing. They enjoy live mealworms and canned crickets. I updated the terrarium photo since we bought a nice fake rock background at the last reptile show, as well as a climbing vine and fogger. They really enjoy climbing up the grooves in the background wall and it's more like a jungle inside now. I always read that crocodile skinks are nocturnal, but ours seem to sleep at night and come out during the day/evening...
