Potential new poster image ? ? ? ? ?

I make art posters of some of my images to sell online and at herp shows. From time to time, people ask me if I'll be making any new ones of different herp subject matter. One request I've had was for a cool day gecko pic. This is among my all-time favorites, but it's hard for me to tell if it's just me who loves my own shot, or if it might have mass appeal as a wall poster. Please give me your honest opinion on whether you think this is something that would have broad appeal and maybe sell well as a 16" wide by 24" high art photo poster.

I photographed this adult giant day gecko Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis near the airport at Diego-Suarez at the northern tip of Madagascar while waiting for my plane to leave. I saw the lizard running around on the tree trunk with something white in its mouth. I thought it might be carrying an egg of some kind, but saw that it was a freshly molted coackroach when I crept closer.

Heres a couple of images that I have captured recently on a trip to California and back here to Minnesota.

A lizard (not sure what kind) in Arches NP, Utah.

A unique flower taken near a Wendy's in Colorado.

The "Balancing Rock" formation in Arches NP, Utah.

This was actually taken on my property...sunset through a pine tree branch...

These flowers were shot on Needles Highway, South Dakota.

This photo was taken near a parking lot on the northern rim of the Grand Canyon. Love those clouds!

This sea gull was shot on Santa Monica Beach, right next to the Pier.

Here's another shot I took just a couple weeks ago of an Ambanja panther chameleon Furcifer pardalis -- probably a lost pet -- found in Southwest Florida. I took lots of pics, and this was one of the rejects. Why did I reject it?

Greg Graziani has assembled a potential breeding group of amelanistic American alligators as a farming venture for Florida. He had one on display at the herp show in Tampa, Florida this past weekend and allowed me to snap some pics on a black-clothed table top. This was one impressive specimen, and it seemed the perfect subject to test my new Nikon R1 'ring' flash system on.

Chris and I saw this cute little girl and just couldn't say no. We'd seen her at the local Pet Depot, with her two brothers (who we casually named Thor and Freyr). I've been wanting another baby monitor. After looking them over, and handling them, Thor was really squirmy and quicky defecated. Definately a healthy spunk. Saga at first seemed sick during our visits to the store, but really she was in a bad molt. (Horrible lack of humidity in the cage) They were all on the skinny side, especially her. We visited the Pet depot many times during the two months the trio was there, and decided whether or not to buy. Tonight, we had a discussion on whether or not to get her here, or wait til the reptile expo in late october to see if they had any, let alone any moderately healthy. We made sure she was alert/squirmy, walking around and responsive to stimuli before we bought her.

Well, Pet depot's care was deplorable, to say the very least. They were on "greeting mat" grade astro-turf, not reptile carpet. They had been out of water multiple times that we looked in on them over the weeks. Cage was too small for three 9 in. monitors, and there was not an adequate heat source, just a flourescent bulb placed on top the wire top. Well, we got her home, set her in quarintine from the other reptiles, gave her some Repti-aid by Flukers', and went about decorating her home. She has a log hide, some fake foliage, water bowl for drinking/soaking, eco-dirt substrate (coconut), heat rock buried and an over head heating bulb for a hot side of 97 (thermo) and a cool of 85. We even coaxed her into eating a pinky soaked in Ca powder and repti-vite. She'll be colorful again soon, heh. She's 9 and 1/2 inches, measured 09/13/08. She handles quite well.

Heres a gray tree frog. Well, sure its green, but the species (Hyla versicolor) is the gray tree frog. Ha ha.

This is my first post on the forum. And these are all my Leos.

this is my first leo her name is Lea and she about 9 months old and around 60 grams

This is my other female her name is Punkin shes about 5 years old and around 50 grams

and finally this is my newest leo His name is Pete he is about 1 year old and around 65 grams

Chris and I went to the Lone Star Herp shop in Arlington, Texas, and picked up this cute girl. (The guy said they were heat treated to be females, but admitted he didn't really know). So we set her up a tank, rabbit pellet substrate, heat lamp, large water dish, half log house, etc. She seems to enjoy it, and her out of tank treks as she explores the floor. Her name is Casca, like the fighter in the Anime, "Berserk!".

I'm A Beginner At This

I want to start photographing herps this summer. I have an Polaroid brand digital camera, and know a bit about photography. I really need some info though. When is the best time to look for them? I live in Orange County, CA, so are there any good spots around there (preferably in the Fullerton/Anaheim area)? There is the occasional lizard running around my backyard, but they are to fast for me to set up my shot. Is there any tricks to getting a picture of these? Any other info would be greatfully accepted.

So my fiance wasn't too happy when I started dressing up Loki and Freya to go a variety of pet stores around town. I think it actually helps people overcome their irrational fear of large lizards. Since we've started dressing them up in teacup doggie clothes, more and more people have confronted us wanting to know more about our herps. Little children seem less afraid to pet them and mothers are actually letting them! lol Your thoughts on this matter please.

What looks like the whites of Freya's eyes is actually her eyelid. I think it makes her look like Storm from X-men!

Loki isn't too impressed with the new threads I think he looks quite sophisticated.

Also, these videos MUST be of your own herps. No posting up other peoples' videos unless you have their express permission.
Even if you don't have a video camera, you can still take alot of different picture of your pet, put them in a clip show using windows movie maker, add music, and viola, you have a video.

My camera trigger finger always starts to twitch when I get around blue herps. You can imagine the itch this critter gave me....

This beauty hails from East Africa and is among the lizard species a breeder in Nashville, Tennessee keeps and breeds. They're small -- about 3 inches total length. Only the males get blue like this. He kept changing from bright to dark as he scurried over the branches we set up to pose him on. This pic was when he was looking about 80% 'lit up', but he occasionally looked even better.

my job at gatorland entitles me to take photos for the guests. most of these were taken during the trainer for a day program where you get up close and personal with some pretty awesome animals. these are just some of my personal favorites

Here's a corn snake from southern Alabama I photographed recently on a herping trip. I posed it on a pine tree stump in natural light. It seemed to fit a vertical format best, so I left extra room on top in case I get lucky someday and it gets selected for a magazine or book cover.
