So? I think if someone on these forums wants to put their sav in dog clothes for a few minutes let them. I think anyone here that is interested enough in reptiles and the reptile community would practice common sense and not leave their animal dressed up all day. you have not too my knowledge taken it too far(YET)taking it too far is dressing up the herp everyday(it should only be an every week thing)& leaving the herp dressed up for over an hour i honestly just plain don't like the idea at all this is just gonna turn into one big domino effect

LOL "domino effect"? Overreacting much? I think you need to calm down. The clothes can't stay on for more than a few minutes while taking photos because they are WAY to loose on them. The clothes are made for objects and animals that have shoulders; Savs do not. Freya has 1 outfit that sort of fits her. If they want out of the clothes all they have to do is take a couple of steps (and they usually do to go exploring). You really need to know what you're talking about first before you go talking about domino effects of lizard clothing. In argumentation and debate this is what they call a "slippery slope" fallacy. I am 23 years old and I know a lot about my herps. I am not a 6 year old playing dress up all day with my lizard dolly. I like taking pictures of my monitor children and putting large monitor lizards in dog clothes for a couple of minutes at home or 10 minutes at a pet store is way less dangerous than letting a Sav free range of a house indefinitely without proper habitat or proper supervision.

Freya and Loki both wear dog clothes. (Loki wears a Small, Freya wears an X-small. Freya can also wear clothes made for large dolls. Saga is the only one that can fit into Barbie clothes. I only really dressed Saga up to get a reaction out of Snakecharmer lol A lizard of her size in a Barbie dress is pretty funny.

Well green and black tree monitors would be nice but I've heard they're pretty flighty (and oh so expensive) lol What I would really like is a hatchling Nile or Water monitor or my dream Lace monitor!...my fiance doesn't like the idea that they get enormous, plus the fact that we would have to breed rabbits for its food. If my memory hasn't failed me, you currently only keep savvana monitors. Do you intend on keeping any other species in the future (I think that I can recall you saying something about tree monitors but I can't be sure)?

Yes they are a little pudgy in the second photo...Loki & Freya just ate a very large rat meal before the pic was taken...They look much leaner after they have had a warm bath and go potty lol Loki loses inches! His uh... excretions can be confused with a dogs.

They are a year and nine months old. Freya, the female(angel) is 29 1/4 inches, and Loki, the male(devil) is 34". Yeah, Savannahs are definately a joy to have around.
Well, a nice tell-tale of sex is to watch them defecate. Males usually clean their bad boys afterwards, giving you a show.
You have quite the zoo yourself! Is "steve" your avatar?

Oh I love the costumes! Looks like my Savannah Monitor-Georgia! They are absolutely adorable in the devil & angel costumes! How old, and big are yours? Mine is almost 2 feet long, & I think its a girl. Very tame & sweet, eats from a spoon sometimes too-lol! Great pics. ~Marine

ok now i've become sorta ok with this whole idea but,this is getting out of hand it just ain't cool to dress herps up & parade them around dressed as characters from terrible movies it ain't cool man it just aint cool(not trying to harass anyone or anything)

LOL I didn't mean for it to be a Dorothy dress, it was just the cutest dress they had in Freya's size that just happens to look like a dress Dorothy wore in the Wizard of Oz. lol By the way, while not one of my favorite movies, the book wizard of oz was an anti-government statement from the late 1800's. Also the original movie had the shadow of a set worker hanging himself in the background... not to mention technicolor was all the rage when the movie came out. lol Just a little history lesson.

We found this little Dorothy dress at a pet show that came to our area. We went in hopes that there would be herps but all they had herpwise was overpriced beardies. The show mostly had exotic birds and $1000 dogs. However we did run across this lady who was selling chahuahua clothes. She had a the blue Dorothy dress and an identical red colored one. They were plated, had lace and little ribbons (not at all like the cheap cotton clothes at petco and petsmart.) She also had a leather vest that I thought would be hilarious on Loki..however Chris didn't like it because it had too many skulls on it. lol

Should Loki be the cowardly lion the brainless scarecrow or the heartless tin man?

Awww, she looks so cute! Looks like she is ready to sing her heart out in The Wizard of Oz! Her dress looks like Dorothy's. Now all you need are some sparkling red shoes, and a Barbie dog or maybe a mouse..... but then you might need a couple, to replace the eaten ones!

Really!?! I have loved that picture since I saw it the Natures Best Photography mag and then when I saw it a the Smithisonian Museum. it won the Windland Smith Rice award in digital manipulation. It's called Iguana Eyes.
Where did you see it and possibly met the photographer.
