ty for the advice reptile dude soon i will try to get some better pics and i will post them! the camera i will be using is a canon powershot S50 digital camera.p.s. what is your favorite pic?

You said to rate and comment so that is what I'll do...

Well there nothing that will wander into the Smithsonian magazine but there still good for a beginner. I would try different camera angles and screwing with the camera settings since it greatly effects the picture, and will allow you to take better pics.

One important thing to remember when doing nature photography is: DO NOT BE AFRAID TO GET DIRTY!!!! If you have to get down on your stomach and crawl through some mud or perhaps have to wade into some murky water...if its for a better picture (actually if a picture is good enough it is known as a photograph-pictures are pictures while photographs are beyond a picture in many ways) its worth it. Trust me.

heres some pictures from last year when we went to a pond dome in

white lake (the ones from this year will be posted tonight) at the place

htere is also a small pond right next to the pond with the underwater dome

and that is where all the turtle pics are from.in the underwater pond dome

you could only see small fish and bugs because it was a man-made lake also

there are eastern massuaga rattlesnakes on some paths(we did not see any)so here are the pics

once my mom downloads some pics off her camera from when we went to a pond dome in white lake there is lots of turtles and frogs i will post them.

i dont know what river it was i will try to see iif i can find out but we were

not very far away we were at the waters edge but my moms camera can

barely zoom in. And i live in michigan p.s. next time i will crop the pics a little bit

The turtles in your VERY LARGE PICS look like northern map turtles, Graptemys geographica. What river were they photographed in? What state were you in? Can you tell us anything else about the experience, like how close were you when the pics were taken?; map turtles are pretty skittish and seldom let you approach very closely. Your shot of the big female (with the thick head) is quite good considering you were probably far away.

We appreciate your post, and would urge you to submit more. Adding some details to your post will give viewers something else to comment about besides 'Nice pics'.

it is a good spot to bask thats why we go there to look for turtles. one time when we went up there and there was a guy with a bucket with 2 crayfish,fish,frogs, and a baby turtle! he said he was gonna put them in a big tank........
