I have heared of this web site called cregs list. Its a place where you can buy reptiles. Sometimes the aniamls can be free withs et up and all!!!! So, whats the deal, should i get herps from this place or not?

I'm here in NE Ohio, and wouldn't mind taking in any medium to small lizards, baby lizards, and frogs and toads. Please do not silently kill any extra babies (or regular colored babies) you had during your breeding - every animal has a right to life.

African clawed frogs for adoption in Baltimore

I have female African clawed frogs (Xenopus laevis), also called ACF, for adoption. These are NOT SUITABLE for outdoor ponds. They are non-native, and escape artists, so they would not survive the winter outside and the risk of escape is too great. They are totally AQUATIC and need to be kept like a fish, but they CANNOT be kept with fish - they will eat or harass any fish in a tank. A single frog needs at least a 20 gallon aquarium or Rubbermaid container and a quality filter (a canister filter is best as they need more filtration than fish). Two frogs kept together would need at least a 30 gallon tank. Currently in the Baltimore area, but can be picked up in New Freedom, PA, as well.

The frogs are relatively easy to care for - feed every other day with commercial fish or turtle pellets, insects, or fish. They require partial water changes every two to four weeks, depending on your filter and tank size. They also need something to hide in, such as an artificial cave from the pet store, or a wide piece of PVC pipe. These frogs are escape artist, so a tight-fitting lid for an aquarium is a MUST.

They can live for years, and even 10-15 year old frogs are not uncommon. Visit http://aquaticfrogs.tripod.com/ to learn more about these frogs.

I have an 8 foot long reticulated python that I have had for over one year. I got him from a guy that was moving and could not keep him. I already have a 15 foot burmese that is loose in my house and I do not have enough room to house this reticulated in the same way I do my burmese and I would like to find a good home, a zoo or other for this beautiful snake. He is a good snake, never bitten, but he is very aggressive about eating and eats about 1-2 rabbits a week! He is 25 lbs.

Adoption:

Adoption requires that you do your homework. Don't just read an animals description and repeat back what I wrote. Tell me what YOU know about the animal. There is always an adoption fee! This is how we keep operating. Some fees are high because it is not cheap to care for these animals and we need the help. the more people who donate the less our adoption fees will be.

Surrendering:

To surrender an animal you must call us at

to see if we have the room and if the animal is legal. Animals that we always take are Bearded Dragons, Iguanas and Tortoises.
We ask that either a small donation or the animals enclosure be included even if the animal doesn't fit it anymore.

2 Peninsula Cooters need a home...

I have 2 Peninsula Cooters (Pseudemys floridana) that are 3 years old. I purchased them at the N.A.R.B.Conference in Tinley Park, Illinois. They were the cutest hatchlings I had ever seen. Well they have grown into wonderful, healthy girls of 6 & 3 lbs respectively. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to keep up with their requirements(Large tank 40 gallons or more, strong filtration system, uva/b lighting in the basking area, heating, and a ramp). I just wanted you to know that I am willing to adopt any reptiles you might need to adopt out. I love all the different types there are and really enjoy caring for them and learning there behavior. I know things get tight sometimes and you have to have help, so don't feel bad if you have to put your loved pet up for adoption. I love all animals but have an even deeper love for reptiles and amphibians. I have rescued and rehabilitated quite a few already. Even if something were to happen and I had to live off of ramen my scaly kids eat well. I have been working for the local animal control taking in their exotics for 2years before that I was taking in exotics residentially for 3years. Now I have my own nonprofit rescue that works on educating the public on the joy and responsibility of having these great little guys....some not so little...if you are in need of a home for one of your guys who may have gotten too big for you or maybe you find you aren't able to care for them like you want to or they deserve then contact me here or at skies_the_limit_reptiles@hotmail.com

Hey everyone.
I have a beautiful baby leopard gecko that i would like to adopt out. She had a broken leg. It healed but it healed weirdly.

There is a 45 dollar adoption fee. It has been to the vet, and is parasite free. I have a questionnaire that you have to fill out and i would also like a reference to your vet so i may talk to them. I am sorry for all of the requirements but i want to make sure this little baby goes to a good home that will take care of her.
