Poison dart frogs are very great pets... I have two (Hurricane and Orchid). They are not toxic in captivity because: In the wild the bugs that the frogs eat, eat plants that contain certain alkaloids. When they eat the bugs they get the alkaloids, which gives them poison.

Benandmax.......... Herpsrule has a few fire belly toads(1 is oriental). To look at herps coolest fire belly toad go to his signatures linkthat says "Come visit Criket".

Benandmax.......... There is a variety of different frogs that you could keep in a ten gallon tall tank.... Such as 1 or 2 green tree frogs, 1 or 2 barking tree frogs, 1 chubby frog, or a couple African drwarf frogs.

Benandmax.......... Albin pacs are very cool I had one that died a few years ago ( Jabba ). They actually have (i think it was 1 tooth) teeth. It bitmy mom once and hungon to her finger. I kept it in a 20 gallon tank filled with peat moss, and it had a half log in it.

DOES THAT ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS?

RE: Amphibian Hangout

pacman frogs are so awesome! especially the albinos!

RE: Amphibian Hangout

what kind of frog/amphibian could i put in a 10gal. tall tank?

RE: Amphibian Hangout

fire bellied toads are cool too. anyone have some?

RE: Amphibian Hangout

i want to get poison dart frogs. i hear they arent that toxic when bred in captivity.

RE: Amphibian Hangout

Well, What amphibians do you have

and what do you tihnk of the Chytrid Fungus?

great site listing all toads and frogs with their families and Genus's :http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/classification/Anura.html

RE: Amphibian Hangout

go to the amphibian arena. didn't you do this on R.I.P. too?

RE: Amphibian Hangout

Yea I havent been on any forums lately but ill be on more since its getting close to winter and once i start breeding in febuary

RE: Amphibian Hangout

Geckodude, long time no see

RE: Amphibian Hangout

There is an entire section for amphibians.
