Awesome! Thank you guys for your compliments and help so far! I've checked into some local stores, and am posting on CL soon. I'm pretty sure it's captive bred, but I'm not 100%. It was bought at a reptile show but that means very little.

You can also get peacock, pheasant, dove and turkey eggs relatively cheap if you know where to look.
As far as I know egg eaters will also eat new born chicks.

canaries are way expensive and i doubt a breeder will give them away or even sell them cheap. finch eggs are probably best for now and those you might be able to get from breeders or even get a pair of finches, they are constantly mating lol. quail, duck and chicken eggs (with embryos) are relatively cheap and should be able to get from any farm store or market. they could probably have eggs from a grocery store but the embryos are healthier for them.

I just acquired a 2.5 week old African egg-eater. (see pic-cute as you-know-what). It's eating finch eggs at this point, and I was wondering if anyone here knows much about these cute little bug-eyed critters, and also if I can get eggs anywhere online? Also, do they have to eat strictly bird eggs?
