You should separate them. The male will continue to do this and it will stress the female out. And bearded dragons produce a good amount of eggs in a year. So unless your ready for a lot of babies who need their own tank, large amounts of food and homes, you should separate them.

You can put the smaller of the two in the 20 gallon for now. But you'll have to upgrade soon. I suggest just going out and buying a 75 (the recommended size for bearded dragons) for both. You can probably find some cheap in the Pets section of craigslist.com.
I would stop feeding pinkies. They are extremely high and fat and should be only fed as occasional treats, but its better to just not feed them at all. Here is a link to a site that will give you a list of all the best, good, okay and bad foods for beardies. http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html
As for substrate, tile, shelf liner, paper towels, newsprint and treated play sand from a home improvement store (Home Depot, Lowes, ect. Not Petsmart or Petco)
