Well Ratsnake, its kinda hard for members to understand what your trying to say because most people on this forums are kids and teens like me. We don't pay taxes, and we don't really pay attention to politics that much. I mean you really know how bad this economy is when you actually are in financiel trouble, which luckily, hasn't happened to my family yet.

And I don't get your whole 'Obama is a weak military leader and Iran isn't afraid of him rant'. Who isn't afraid of the president? Why did Osama Bin Laden run away and hide? If he wasn't afraid of the president, he would probably be planning alot more terroist attacks on countrys and cities. And if your not afraid of Obama, then you should be. Who has control of one of the most powerful militarys in the world? Obama. My point is, we as a country should take caution to Iran, and Iran should take caution to us. If countrys wern't afraid of one another, the earth would probably be in deeper sh*t than it is now.

Ratsnake, and other adult members, shouldn't dumb things down because the majority of the members here are kids. If a political topic is made, and people post in it, doesn't it seem like the person has a little interest in politics?

Bin Laden fled into hiding because Bush DID send the most powerful army in the world after him, and his entire following, which was based on fear, fell apart when a higher power came into the picture. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (the president of Iran) doesn't have to fear Obama because Obama refuses to do anything! Like Ratsnake said, talking can only get you so far. Heck, the man actually gains political power from hating America, so why not?

Thanks for the backup,mb. I was going to respond in a similar way. Some of the kids here are not really kids, but pre-teens or teens and old enough to hear adult points of view. I think what I was taking about was pretty clear and easy to understand.

In regards to Obama, he has no military experience, no experience running anything actaully and a cabinet who is pretty much antimilitary. How can we trust this man with protection?

Can we trust the government with a health care system when they prove to be incompetant and inefficient with everything else? Sometimes you have top wait a while to see a specialist or have a procedure done. Can you immagine what kind of wait you would have with a federal system. Yikes! Is congress going to use this plan. Ummm.... Not on your life.

Just because someone is president doesn't mean they are great and powerful leaders. For example take Van Buren. His presidency was basicly set up by Andrew Jackson. He was a weak president who got little done.

Furthermore just because someone is not an adult does not mean they do not understand these things. At the age of ten I could tell you about the watergate scandal, simple chemistry, micro and macro evolution, and simple relativity theories.

This is one of the most sad things that I've ever seen on this forum: teens saying that just because of their age they don't pay attention to what is going on in this country.

It doesn't matter how old you are, if you are a citizen then it is one of your duties to keep up with what is going on in our government and all over the world. I been following politics and news very heavily for the past 1 1/2 years now (I'm 15) and can tell you that its not that hard.

This generation seems to be more focused on the next time they get to play video games or what music video is being played on mtv rather than what truly matters and could potentially change our lives.

Note: I am not attacking anyone by saying these things, I just believe that it is very sad to see a generation like this.

You're unique...just like everybody else.

I said that wrong sorry. You can understand how bad the economy is, but you don't know how bad it is until you or your parents actual get in financial troubles. My aunt got laid off from her job in flordia and know shes living in a 2 bed 1 bath apartment with her 2 kids.

And why do you think that I don't keep up with current events? If I didn't whatch the news and read the newspaper, I probably wouldn't be posting in this forum right now.

I watch ABC News, CNN and 60 Minutes, the one problem I have though is stock markets. I understand it, but its so confusing.

I'll admit that I never used to be interested in politics, but for the past year or so I have been paying a lot more attention. I watch the local and world news almost every night as well as frequently visit news websites. I'm taking an American Government class this year and one thing I have noticed is that most people my age (I'm 17 by the way) are very self centered. Many people in my class think that if you have an opinion diferent from theirs then you are wrong! Needless to say I've gotten into some rather heated debates in there.

I agree with ratsnake I don't think that we should dumb it down or state our oppinions or state facts because some people are too young. If you understand it great if you don't at some point you will so take what the people who are posting it are saying and you can form your own oppion. Now as far as Obama again just because he is president of the us and has the worlds most powerful military at his disposal doesn't mean he knows how to use it not everyone does.As far as Obama winning the peace prize he promised a whole lot of stuf that he has yet to deliver on,I understand the voting was done early and that people probably made a hasty desicion but I still think that his color had more to do with it than some people realize. But than again I beleive that just because they made a big deal out of it during the campaign, but than again to me it wasn't a big deal I was looking past the color of his skin, and even with Hillary Clinton I didn't want her in either not because she was a woman but she backs alot of the same issues Obama does that I don't agree with. Now with that being said I did vote for McCain not because I thought he was a great canidate(I do agree the choices sucked this past election)but because I thught he was the lesser of two evils again just my oppinion so don't crucify me.But going back to the nobel ptize thing I beleive that no matter which one Obama or Clinton would have been at least considered for that award, but I don't think McCain would have but even he wanted to bring the troops home but not on the same schedule as the other two and I understand that it wasn't fast enough for most people. So that to me says that Obama was in the running because of his skin and Clinton was in for her sex.Again not saying that was the only reason but it was a big reason.

Oh man...I agree with the majority of the people here. I was watching Sean Hannity a while ago, and he joked around with the whole thing. At first, you thought he was in favor for it. Then he said "I should also get a grammy for a movie I haven't even been in yet!" Pretty funny.

Anyway, I do not think that Obama deserved that prize. Especially since the nominations were in February...one month into his presidency. It's pretty ridiculous.

I'm not sure what he was nominated for...but I'm forced to believe that he was nominated simply because of his race. I do not want to be called a "racist" for this comment, I am simply stating my opinion. It's just hard to believe he was nominated for anything else, because he hasn't done anything.
