Hi,

I have a Ball Python and a Rosey Boa that I have to give up (baby on the way and space & money are tight)

I have had both of these snakes since the mid 1990's.

The Ball Python is about 3 feet long and is kept in a 36" Neosheda type Vivarium with pig blanket & thermostat control (all included)

The Rosey Boa is about 16"-18" in length and is kept in a 30 Gallon Slate bottom aquarium with a custom built secure top (included).

These snakes and their enclosures are free to a good home. Will not ship, but will deliver within a reasonable distance. I live in North Jersey about 30 Minutes West of NYC

Thanks.

My wife just called me from the road and I said "someone on RM forum is giving away a free Rosy Boa" she said "hell yes".  I don't need the cage, but I'll take it anyway. I live in CT. Driving to Jersey is no problem.

I'd like to see a pic and get more info so here's my email since the private messaging is disabled. WHATS UP WITH THAT MODS?

Uhoh, Moyer, It seems like there may be a bit of conflict here.

People abuse the PM system and so it's turned off.

Thats unheard of and ridiculous. I guess "private" isn't "private" on Planet Reptile Channel. Lame.

Well, you are incorrect.

The PM system is private. We found out from frustrated members who contacted us and showed us their PM messages and asked that we do something about it. We tried to manage the system without making it inoperable, but the problems continued and we were left with no other choice. We have always kept the hope that we would turn them on one day when everyone on the forum acted in a proper way, but alas, that day has not yet come.

So, not unheard of, nor ridiculous. You guys make these decisions for yourselves. You are the true leaders of Planet Reptile Channel.

It IS ridiculous.  I'm a member of several reptile forums as well as a skeptics and animal welfare forum and not one of them has ever disabled the private messages even if there has been a little nonsense once in while. You obviously ban people who you think are trouble makers so do that and let us P.M. I've never caused a problem here and believe me I've restrained myself quite a bit, so I'm penalized because of a few idiots? Again, lame.

why not just add a report button to the PM's and turn them back on that way if they are not following the rules it can be reported right away

Hi,

Sorry for not responding. I have been offline all week.

Snakes are still available. Also, I wasn't aware that there was a problem with the private messages system.

I will contact you via the email posted above.

Thanks.
