I would love to hear all your venomous herp experiences, in captivity, or the wild. Here goes mine. I went to a summer camp when I was seven. Their was a big creek, and a dried up river bed full of sticks, rocks, and leaves. I was exploring the river bed when I ran into what I assumed was a northern water snake. I spent all my time learing about reptiles from the time I could read. But I looked closer, and realized it was a copperhead. It had a triangle head, and a very bold pattern. It also had diamond eyes. I found a 6 foot stick and decided to shoo it of into the woods, because if the older teenages saw it, they might do something crazy. Unfortunatly, they noticed me, and came over to see what I was doing. They started yelling beck and forth to each other, then one ran over with a shoe box. Before I could say anything, he picked it up by they tail, dropped it in the box, closed the lid, and ran into the dorm. I ran up to the dorm, but couldn't get in because everyone was running in to see "The Garter Snake" "they", had found. When I finally got in, they were teasing it with a sock! I grapped the box and ran. I got down to the creek, and let it loose. They didn't believe me when I told them becase They though I was stupid and didn't know anything. So they were still angry that I let their pet "Garter Snake" go, and were mean to me for the rest of the trip. So I ended up wishing I had let them keep their "Pet Garter Snake".

One time i was helping unloading a van of herps and stuff when i saw this really pretty black snake i thought it was a hognose Boy Oh Boy as i wrong, i had an adult with me when i went to go and pick up this snake when i did the adult said "Do you know what that is" i said "it's a hognose right?" then i realized this pretty black snake was no hognose it was a Monical cobra! then its hood started up and i was like " AWW SH*T!" I was in shock later on, man was i lucky i wasn't bit. Every one was mad at the adult i was with for not stopping me. Yeah, my pet store is always ordering the wrong thing. They accidently ordered a very poisonous scorpion, blood python that bit to guy when he unloaded the "ball python", tokay geckos, and a pueblan milk snake. Well ,the pueblan milk snake was good 'cause I bought it.

Thats kind of the opposite of me. If someone finds any critter they will ask me what it is or come and get me before picking it up. 8 out of 10 times I can name what it is and if its dangerous. But yes. Most of the people that say you dont know anything, are the ones that dont have a clue. There was some kid at a reptile show who was arguing with an adult over snake species and later I saw the kid look at a vieled chamelion and called it a gecko. And I believe the kid called it a leopard gecko.

I am currently incubating Red Tail Boa eggs...

There are people everywhere who think they can do everything better than everyone, and are smarter than everyone. Just like a kid going ice skating for the first time. The go leap on the ice expecting to be able to leap, jump, and twirl instantly, but instead they fall flat on their backside, and they are faced with the facts. Some people just have too much confidence. But if you show them the proven facts, and they still insist they are right, then they are not necessary overly confident, but stubborn, and nothing can change that. So we just have to ignore them.
