Hello All,

I would like to ask you all a quick question, because for me it seems the logical way to go about the breeding idea.  Okay, first, I have noticed that incubators, racks, and enclosures in the breeding world are deathly expensive commercially.  (At least they are to someone in my shoes).  Now I have a relative in my family who can construct virtually anything and for even a fraction of retail value, because he is a freelancing contractor.  I am probably going to go about constructing my own enclosures, racks, and so on....  Do you all believe this is a good idea?  I will literally save $100s if not $1,000s in the long run.  Plus there's something about that decorative, personal touch that seems to draw me toward this idea.  What's the public verdict on homemade enclosures, racks, and gear?

they are fine just do alot of research and look at as many other commercial and home made cages\racks to get a really good idea on what you wanteed and remember one of your major enemies when building cages or racks is bowing the next would probably be moisture
and i am currently in the process of building a few homemade cages right know im hoping to get them done before it begins to heat up [ i live in AZ lol ]

I had thought about the moisture part. I will let my grandfather know about that. he does this sort of thing for a living. Lol. I'm sure he can cook up an idea to waterproof the wood. He does everything from building houses, to high end electronics, to bath fitting and installation, so I am thinking he should have all the skills necessary to pull this off. But hey man thanks for the tip. I currently live in VA so humidity is a factor, and during the hottest parts of summer I'm sure heat will become one as well, although not like out west where you are lol.
