Hi

I was wondering is there any way to feed silkworms in cold winters? Mulberry is the only plant matter that they eat

Try something like this. http://www.mulberryfarms.com/Supplies/Packaged-Foods/10-lb-Powdered-Silkworm-Chow-p38.html I don't know if this company ships out of the US, but it was just the first I clicked on, there are a lot others like them. I think most people who keep silkworms in captivity feed them this type of premade food rather than actual mulberry leaves.

Pretty sure the main ingredient is mulberry leaves, so your back where you started if you try to make it at home. From experience I've tried to make hornworm food and just ended up making a mess even though I followed some directions exactly. It would have been worth it to just buy some.

I buy my silk worm food from Mulberryfarms. It so easy to make in the microwave and they eat and eat it constantly.
I am new to silk worms but my mantids were hungry and fruit flies just weren't enough. Crickets are dangerous if your mantis goes into molt.
He may get eaten.
Raising mantids in winter is hard work. Especially when you have too many.
