I have 2 sliders a Mississippi map and 2 painted turtles in a tank. On painted turtle likes to bother my map turtle. He does not bother anyone else. Sometimes my map turtle opens his jaws in preparation to defend himself. My map turtle is my favorite and I 'm worried that they could get into a scuffle (he has bitten him once before but that was in a smaller tank with only them together)

How should I stop them from fighting? or potentially biting one another?

I love them both and don't have the tank space for a separate enclosure :/

Other than separating them, which is the best option, you could try to give them more space. Either a bigger enclosure or more hiding places inside the enclosure could help. You could also add more basking places to keep them further apart from each other.

3.2 Bearded Dragons (Spyro, Gyra, Smaug, Lyra & Alicia Rose)
1.2 Gold Dust Day Geckos (Krypto, Fluora and Rubi)
1.1 Frilled Lizards (Sam & Jess)
0.0.1 Sulcata (Rigby)
0.1 Veiled Chameleon (Radiya Jabeen)

I've decide to part with my painted turtle, the other day he had my map turtle my the neck and wouldn't let go

My dad had to pull them apart, it was horrible

Luckily my map turtle wasn't hurt but I might not be so lucky next time

I've had had him for years...but he's become a mean old man and I would rather keep them apart then risk another incident.

my turtles:

Painted: Rocky
Painted Herman (mean old man)
Red-eared: Squirt
Red-eared: Buddy
Mississippi map: Morty
Cooter: Muppet

You could just separate them. And as the others have asked, how big are they and what is the size of the tank?

0.1 Baja Rosy boa
1.1 Leopard geckos
0.2 Corn snakes
0.1 Greek Tortoise
1.0 Kenyan Sand Boa
1.0 Jungle Carpet python
