Yes. As long as its the right dimensions and is meant for strip lights then you can put it in any hood you want.

Things are great! He's been home for almost a full month now. We took him to the vet, where he checked out. His fecal exam was negative. He's eating great, and on Monday, he shed. It was a full shed - it looked like a sock someone had slipped off.
