Ok i have a pond in my backyard wich many types of frogs inhabit in the summer. They lay their eggs and tadpoles hach and hybernate in the winter as frogs. until now. I found a surpluss of tadpoles in August and have been wating for them to change ever sience. Now they are geting frozen in solid ice and when they thaw they turn up dead. Some stayed at the bottem and are not dead. Should i take them inside? What are they????

It is likely that either:
A.) The tadpoles came from eggs laid too late in tge year to complete metamorphosis and tge tads will likely all perish

Or

B.) They are likely a species that naturally overwinters in the larval stages, such as bullfrogs

They are not bullfrog tadpoles, they are to small. If they were born to late can i bring them inside and will they live and turn into frogs?

I took them inside and they are dying off. They barely move and the majority float at the top. No food is eaten. I made sure to slowely acclimate them to the water temp so shock isnt the problem. what is?

Could be a million things...pH shock, chlorine shock, hardness shock...heck, they could be dying when you brought them in. I will tell you what I tell people every day....just let them be. It sucks to watch something die, but that is nature.
