| The aquarium that I currently have is a 50 gallon tank that houses my ball python. I already have some heating bulbs for her, a small 75 watt and a 100 watt, though it dosent get as hot as I know it could. Would anyone out there know a good setup, warmth wise, that I could get for her?
p.s. (the 75 watt is a black heating bulb, and the 100 watt is a regular day bulb, no heating mat is on the tank as of now)

My BP is in a tub with just a small UTH and that works great for me because there are no lights required. Very easy and cheap.

| Ditch the bulbs and get a heat mat.

We have our adult male in a 40 gallon breeder (BP need smaller tanks to help them feel secure), and he has a large heat mat on bottom as well as a small one on the side, left-hand, on the back to keep the area 95 degrees for a basking spot.
I think there is nothing wrong with bulbs for a diurnal snake such as a corn, but BP are nocturnal and their eyes aren't meant for intense light.

Heat mat for corns as well. I've had two corns since 2003 and they do just fine with the heat mat.
