HI! I have had my blue dumpy for almost a year now and I am wondering if he is doing ok compared to another person's frog. He hangs out at the top of my tank a lot and sleeps. how long shoul I leave the light on him each day? will he eat anything other than just crickets? should I dust his foods with vitamins?

well.. you should have the lights on a timer to make it easier...

12 hours on and 12 hours off.. hehe.. simple! [] I usually have a heat lamp on..(low wattage though). Also depeding where u live...

Also... you should always be dusting their food! Calcium powder.

Sincerely, Andrea.

I have his light on a timer, but on some days, it is hot enough to turn the light off so as not to fry him. Does doing so throw off his schedule? And....  Can I feed him anything other than crickets, he seems to be getting bored of them. I have tried mealworms, but they are too slow for him. He likes food that he can chase around.

Well... Yes turning the light off will mess his schedual up!! I wouldnt recommend it! Is it because ur tank is near a window?? o shouldtry to keeptheir tank as normal/steady as possible... It can stressout your frog! Maybe your wattage isnt correct... What light are we talking about though.. it all depends.. and whats the wattage?? Id mostly stick with crickets.. If he isnt interested in mealworms then I dunno.. What do u mean hes bored of crickets??? Is he bored.. or are u bored.. hehe..[]

Sincerely, Andrea.

What I mean when I say he is bored with them is he always used to get very excited when I would drop the crickets into his tank. He would get right up and chase them around. Now he waits for them to come to him before he eats them. [V]

I work in a pet shop and many of the tree frogs there are like that. Don't worry, as long as he's eating he should be OK. But he might have some internal parasites or something, which you probably should check for.

Geckos and all other reptiles are amazing!
