| I used the aspen bedding for my corn, but I use newspaper in the Tupperware feeding container. That kept him from impacting. I use the same method for feeding my ball pythons, but they are on jungle bark mixed with that Bed a Beast shredded coconut bark. Sorry, I don't have a pic of my corn. Do a Google search for Creamsickle cornsnake and you can see on that looks like him. They all look similar as babies to me.

| Out of curiosity, why won't your mom let you get a snake? Is she afraid of them, or is it a responsibility issue? My husband is not thrilled with my owning snakes, but he agreed when I showed him that the Zilla cage I bought had a locking feature that keeps the snake from escaping. If you can do a lot of research ahead of time, then present what you have learned to your mom, she might be more willing to let you get one. For example, look into the price of a cage, substrate (newspaper does work, and Hey, you are recycling and helping the environment!), heat lamp (clamp lamp at Lowe's is about $5.00), regular old 60 watt light bulb for heat, etc. I make damp hides out of old butter containers. If you do some serious research into supplies and show that you are responsible, and will not allow the snake to get loose by being irresponsible, Mom may just give in. And as a woman, let me just say that offering to pick up some extra chores around the house may get you far (just start doing them and DON'T SLACK OFF WHEN YOU GET THE SNAKE). Good luck.

| My mom for some reason is terrified of them. She nows i am not irresponsible because i have 2 leos already. But i had to do like 3 years of research on them before i could get them. Right now i am already doing tons of research on corn snakes. And yes i am looking into prices of things. Anyways it is kinda of hard to do xtra chores when i have a job. So it makes it kind of complicated. But i asked for a corn snake book for X mas and now i am reading it over and over and i am also doing research on the internet. Thanx a buch for the advice.

| Ahh, the irrational fear of snakes, hard to cure. My mom was terrified of snakes, but I was able to get her a little better by having her hold a baby hognose I had. Since he was really small, slow, and gentle, she wasn't afraid of him. Now she will hold my ball pythons with only a small cringe. Good luck, and just keep showing her how serious you are about wanting a corn snake.

| My snakes name is sweetie because the first time i held it it was such a calm and nice snake. I used aspen bedding the first week i had my snake and it got mites so i've been using pine shavings which works great. The first reptiles i got were my two bearded dragons and my mom fell in love with them she thought they were so sweet but my mom loved animals before i got my lizards. A few months later i got my Corn Snake and it was such a good snake my mom and dad (which doesn't really like animals) got me a Red Tail Boa for Christmas and he is such a calm snake like my Corn Snake.
