| good post to put up, there are some things i dont agree with. like gabbons, rhinos, monocle cobras as first venomous snakes. did you mean monocle as a first venomous snake or first cobra ? the would be good for a frist cobra but a first hot they wouldnt be same with bitis. gaboons rhinos puff adders are not slow, they dont move because they are ambush predators if you mess up with one you will pay for it. gaboons and rhinos are pretty laid back but if you are in range and they want to bite you they will not miss and you wont get out of the way either. i have kept venomous snakes for about 5 years and started with false water cobras then copperheads rattlers. my friend that i get my hots from started keeping venomous at age 14 and had puff adders he kept hots for 28 years before getting bit by a rattler. so i wouldnt get new venomous speices unless i talked to him first and he wouldnt sell me anything that i wasnt ready for or couldnt handle at the time, he sold me gaboons rhinos and puff adders before he would let me get a cobra.
