I thought I would share some pictures I took yesterday when my rose hair molted. The sad thing we found out that he matured out this molt and it will probably be his last. He hooked out.

This Fluffy on his back.

On the right is his molt on the left all smashed together is Fluffy.

A litttle different angle.

Fluffy molt is complete.

That was a cool thing to witness, and even cooler that you took pictures.  I've seen shed tarantula skins many times, but have never watched it happen live in person.  How long did the process take from start to finish approximately?  Is it a one-minute event, or more like an hour of effort?

Like you, I have only seen the molt after the fact. Even after I posted these pics two of our other tarantulas molted but I wasn't able to get pictures. Fluffy was on his back for a few hours. Then I looked at him again and he had popped the carapace and was half way out. The part after he started to come out took about an hour. Then he was out stretching. Here is a picture of Fluffy's molt and one of our parahybana it is on a 4 1/2" lid.
