Thanks for the information you all gave me. So I'm looking into a new light.

2 Red Ear Slider Turtles in a 10 gallon right now. Only babies, 4 inches. I have a waterfall filter (don't know the GPH) and a dock for them to sunbathe on.

Should I transfer them into a 40 gallon breeder  or should I keep in them in there? It really does cost a lot and I don't want to waste any money.

Also, for the UVB lights, ReptiSun has three types. 10.0, 5.0, and 2.0. Which one should I buy?

The light for the 10 gallon is still the one that came with the fish tank. I don't want to buy the 18 inch one and find out I should buy the 40 gallon breeder and get a new light.

Please respond quick!

5.0 remember since its reptisun you only need to change it once a year & yes put them in a 40-breeder a 10-gal is a bit cramped also, how is the cage set-up(substrate,how much water, hides, etc)

You can get a 40 now or later.  I am not an expert so I do not know if they wil be in a 40 forever, as it is best to get their ful size forever cage after they grow out of the 10 gallon.

As for the Repti-sun.  I think the 0.5 is okay because the turtles are not going to be far away from the light.

1.0 bearded dragon (Drake)
1.0.1 leopard gecko (Athena and Apollo)
0.0.1 occelated skink (Zahara)
0.0.2 wood frogs (Cloak and Dagger)

get the turtles out ASAP! ONE of those turtles would fit in a 40 gallon. the rule is 10 gallons an inch of turtle/tortoise. i'd say 5.0 also, the 10.0 is more for desert herps, and 2.0 is really for tropical Amphipians. try getting an outdoor pond til you can get at least an 80 gallon.

My Kids:

1.0 Anery Cornsnake  (Fabrizio)
?.? Savannah Monitor  (Dino)
0.1 High Yellow Leopard Gecko  (No Name)
0.1 Albino Leopard Gecko  (Juanita)
0.1 African Fat-Tailed Gecko  (No Name)
?.? Eastern Tiger Salamander  (Chestnut)

If I hit the lottery, the first "investment" I would get is a breeding pair or trio of green or blue tree monitors, with cage, lighting, plants, etc.

Looks like some controversy here about the tank size. Should I get the 40 gallon breeder for one or two?

I'll also get the 5.0 reptisun T8. Thanks for the info.

a 40-gal will work for one & as i already said as adults for 2 they need a custom turtle table of atleast 4ft wide & 6ft long
