I know petsmart overprices everything, but i'm worried about the quality of the mice from shipping. Any advice is welcome.

Just grow your own. Saves a lot on money. That's what I do.

The mice you get from an online dealer are better and cheaper than petstore rodents. A small rat at a local petstore can sell for $4.00 each. Rip off! They sell online for a buck and change each. I get all my feeders from http://themousefactory.com/. Their feeders come neatly aranged in trays and vacum sealed. Plus, they are spotless. I have gotten petstore rodents that have urine stains and turds stuck to them. Raising your own is an option, if you want to feed, house and clean up after a bunch of mice.

I feed f/t ONLY I am prepared to scent with a hamster, toads or lizard, but will only feed dead. I am a vegetarian, which is why everyone thinks being a reptile keeper is wierd for me. I feed only insects live- no mammals.

Well, you can grow them live, then bop them on the head, asphyxiation in a box, or even just pop them in the freezer to be ready for next time. That solves not having to feed them live.

| Not practicle. maybe later, but I don't have enough room, money and I only need enough for 1-2 snakes. All im asking is which is cheaper.

Buying frozen feeders online is a lot cheaper than getting them at the pet stores, but you have to buy large quantities. I buy all my feeders from Rodentpro.com and the smallest packs of pinkies and fuzzies are 100 count. Adult mice come in 50 packs and rats come in smaller quantities. You just need to decide if you have the space to store the extra 50+ frozen mice.
