jparker1167 (10/4/2008) well I'm kinda new here and saw this post so i thought i would say something, there are a lot of animals that people keep as pets that are far more dangerous then venomous when in the hands of an experienced keeper. i keep non venomous snakes and venomous snakes I'm more into the hots, they are just more interesting and colors are a lot nicer. i have around 30 venomous snakes from rattlers gaboons puff adders copperheads cobras saw scaled viper. there really is never a time when i think i have a 50/50 chance of dieing they are not crazy killers like some people think they are most will just try and get away, some bluff and strike with the mouth closed, now and then people have close calls but that will happen with anything no one is perfect, i see people say stuff like only zoos should have them but i know private keepers that i would trust over any zoo keeper, just because someone works at a zoo doesn't mean they better then private keeper, i know that no one here said that but i see it now and then. another thing to the person that said he wanted a monocle cobra. you said the guy at the pet shop you go to has degrees in herpetology ? i have been told there is not degree in herpetology its just an associated degree through biology and zoology. also you said this "i plan on looking for anti venom at the "rain forest" in pigeon forge they have a colony of monocleds" what does that mean ? you plan on looking for antivenom whats the rain forest ? also where do you live some states do not allow keeping venomous reptiles... ill post some pics of some hots i keep if anyone wants to see them, ill try and post one
is thata suphan

| im not sure if you where asking if that was a suphan so ill just answer incase, yea thats a suphan in that pic. i dont really find them to be any more aggressive then the other cobras but it all depends on the snake, i had a male suphan that would strike at ya with him mouth open. lots of cobras will bluff and strike with the mouth closed. but i have only kept a few suphans maybe someone will come along that has kept a good amount to give some more info about how they compair to other cobras
