I agree with most of the above. Craig's List is very much like ebay in that "Buyer Beware"! Do not buy anything before you go look at it, since Craig's List can list stuff local to you. Have fun browsing and buy cautiously!

| I have to say that I love Craigs list. This past weekend I got a male ferret (already have a female) and a beautiful stunning Tangerine Female Bearded Dragon (All were truly free) and included Large ferret cage, food, best vitamins, shampoo and toys. Could not ask for a better birthday weekend!!!!If you check the "Free" area close to your area they will give away tanks, supplies and anything that you could want. I will not pay retail for a pet listed on there. There are those that use craigs list as a free site to sell their reptiles. Hope this helps Turtley 40 Assorted Torts, 2 ferrets, 3 dogs, 3 bearded dragons, 2 uromastixs, 4 hedgehogs 18 water turts and adding more daily!!!!

I would rather buy tanks and other items, but if I was to get a herp from it I would be a little scared because either their getting rid of it because I has something wrong with it and dont want to deal with it or they just dont want it anymore. I would have to carefully examine any herp I would buy.

I am going to be honest. Normally I would scoop these up in one breath, but, I have hard on the news of scam artiest with people paying for expensive stuff before receiving. So, price or not I would not trust anything on craig list

Yeah there are tons of people that will try to scam you, that is why you should always meet in person to inspect the things you wish to purchase before you buy them. I would never recommend sending money and then hoping to receive your items.

| Speaking of scams....I'm up in Washington, and on our local Craigslist (how I got my rescue beardies and python) there's a SNAKE FLIPPER. I was looking into getting a burmese he had, and when I found out he lived in Oregon, I said I wouldn't drive that far. Then he started harassing me about it, trying to get me to buy his burm, then he desperately wanted MY albino burm to breed. A little later I heard from someone else he was harassing them too, and come to find out, he travels all the way up to the Canadian border and back getting free and cheap snakes, breeding them, then turning around and selling for profit, while telling people he's "moving and can't take them" or some other lame excuse. Other than those kind of people, I log onto there every day, looking for other rescues, and usually just browsing.
