First off the snake won't impact the sand if you feed him in a seperate cage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats what I do with my sand boa

I have maintained my Sandboa for close to a year on nothing but aspen with no problems. Its easy to maintain compaired to sand. Holds shape very well when my snake burrows which is really cool because if you dont disturb the aspen for a few days you can see several tunnels that have been created. I would recommend aspen used gererously through out the enclosure with about 3-4 inch depth. Good luck...

"Sand" Boa... No sand... It's not good for a SAND boa to live in SAND... WHAT? That's dumb sounding. Sand would be nice, I didn't know aspen could be used for sand boas. And does aspen really hold burrow shape? That's cool.
