I just got a baby Rainwater Albino Leopard Gecko (Chance) about 1 1/2 weeks ago.  I have some questions about him/her, please help Chance!

1. Chance does not have any claws.  Is it normal for a baby Leopard Gecko to not have claws (then they grow them in) because his is about one month, or did he lose them ALL while shedding?

2. Is it okay to feed his mini-mealworms just running around the cage like crickets?  I have paper towels as the substrate.

3. He has this big, blue band going across his mid-abdomen.  I can tell it is not a part of his patterns.  What could it be?

4. Whenever he accidentally steps into his shallow water dish, he freaks out.  Is this normal?

Please help Chance and me!

Ok so have you tried holding him and even when he is walking you cant feel his claws? If so them i am guessing that it lost them in shedding like you said.

As long as you get all the mini mealies out after he is done eating i dont see a problem.

Do you have a pic??

along witht the water my leos dont like water either. I mean they will drink it but they hate stepping in it.

I have him in a 10 gallon on paper towels with: warm side- 95-100, cool side- 80-85, nightime- 73.  He has a humid hide, and a piece of driftwood to hide under too.  He is fed 4 Mini-Mealworms: 2 days, skip a day.  He has a calcium dish that he uses a TON and I dust his worms.  Those are his conditions.

I guess he lost all his claws to shedding...

I don't have any pics but it is a big blue band that goes across his stomach.

He eats all 4 minis, but won't eat a fifth.

ahh the blue band is it across the whole abdomen
my leo also has the blue streak. I think it is just like the intestines.. (correct me if i am wrong)
and some times there is only a spot which I think is poop because it has that white thingy and only shows when about to poop
but I head if it is blue in the whole underbelly it is internal bleeding

Well if it is just on the belly it might be its organs but if it is a huge one and its blue i have no clue.

Whoa I keep my mealies in a dish. I don't think you should let them roam around and no claws weird. Mine had claws when I got him there as sharp a daggers!
