Ok, heres the deal. Mom is not really good about listening to direction and opened the egg box to make sure none had hatched....could that kill them? I normally open them once a week every Monday...I was like, flipping out when my mom told me so I just wanted to know.

Also, if/when/regardless if they do hatch I would like to expand and start a larger scale breeding program. My questions are:

What would happen if you, say, crossed a phantom and a sunglow? Would the dominant trait beat out the recessive trait but the recessive trait becomes a HET (I think thats what its called...its like 2 in the morning sooo) so that if crossed with another HET or a full morph of the HET it will become that HET color? Sorry, I donno if that made sense or not

My idea was:

have a 40 gallon breeder with 3-4 females in it...ideally two of a morph, or maybe 1 full morph and one HET morph.

have four 15 gal. breeder (dont even know if they make them) with ideally the same morphs as the females.

have my last shelve reserved for a 20 gal. breeder for a female kenyan sand boa and a 15 gal. breeder for a male. (kind of off-topic but ah well)

Then put my current geckos on top of my rabbit's dog crate cage.

Would this be a good idea?

My morph color choices would be:

-snow gecko
-sunglow gecko
-phantom

possibly high yellow (my current female's morph) or high yellow with HET for tremper albino (my current male's morph)

Thanks you guys!

Oh, one last thing.

Everyone said you cant tell a leopard gecko's gender ti'll about 8 months...is this true? If so, how can the online shops list the gender if the leopard geckos are still babies?

My last question is, is online ordering a good idea? If so, whats the best website for

MY ANIMALS:

1.2.1 leopard geckos (Annie and Fred)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 female hotot dwarf rabbit mix(Diva)
1 male rex rabbit and PEW rabbit mix (Rockstar)
1 male Syrian hamster (Oswego)
1 female mouse (Minnie Mouse)
1 male betta (Fishie)
1 female cockatiel (Birdie)
3 dogs, all female:
golden retriver/cocker spaniel mix (Sandy)
border collie/australian shepherd mix (Ripley)
lab/ something else mix (Loretta)
1 male nubian goat (Buddy)
1 rhode island red rooster (Mcnugget)
Yeah, if you have a D and a r the D will beat out the r
Ok it shouldn't do anything as long as it wasn't open that long.(wath your language by the way)
NOt sure about the morphs.
As for gender most people can tell when a leo is 20 grams or bigger.
As for online store. Dont go lllreptile for animals. They get all there animals from tons of private breeders(its not bad but i wouldn't recommend it) I would go for a place that actually speacilizes in geckos like crested gecko.com they sell leopards also. And the owner is very nice and helpful.
My Leopard Geckos
Oh yeah also try the urban gecko. They have leo gecko packages, so you can get 4 geckos of the same morph
^I was there last night
Thanks everyone!
Also, in regards to the 20 gal. on top of the rabbit cage, I DO stack my cages, I dont have tons and tons of space so I try my best. There would be a block of firm wood underneath the tank and I use a light, not a heating pad so nothing would burn.
Also, sorry about the language :X
I was actually at LLLreptiles the other day, I live about 30-40 minutes away from there.
Why would it be bad if they got it from private breeders?
I am not to fond of them myself, I bought a 20 gal. there and I had two people helped me...the first person told me the 20 gal. was a 40 gal. and it was like 40 bucks. So, I got someone else to help me and he confirmed what I though...it was a 20 gal. and it was like 50 bucks. I also dont know if they sell hovabator models with fans, but I wouldve liked to know since its really hot a lot of the time here and I caught the temp. right in time. They just handed me the cheapest model...I wouldve spent more if I knew there was a fan which wouldve been benefical...I was told it was "unimportant" to have extra features.
Also, I have another question.
Do they sell any battery powered heat lamps?
I am going to this pet symposium thing for my 4-H club and I am going to talk about leopard geckos. I really want to bring my adults and possibly my new hatchlings, depending on when they hatch/if they hatch/if they have their first shed before the show. The only problem is, its outside.
Now, it wont really matter if its a nice sunny day but its cold and rainy thats gonna suck =/ Then I probably wouldnt bring my babies, possibly not even my adults.
Any suggestions?
I don't know if they sell batery powered lamps, I wouldn't think so because you need a lot of electricty to power high watt light bulbs, but if they did have sum I would definatly (spelling?) get some. It would save some money for some new games and a new cell phone.
^lmao I know
Lets hope its a nice day!
Also, do leopard geckos need UV lighting? Everyone's told me its not important but I read an article in Reptiles magazine that its not bad if they dont have one, but its better if they do.
But there noctural, correct? So they really dont need it, correct?
