Yes, he needs to go to a veterinarian.  He may have an infection.

It'll also be important to take a look at all aspects of his care, from food to housing to heat.  There may be something wrong that is causing the little guy stress.

If you type "lizard eye" into the search bar at the top of the page, you'll see many of our articles about the possible causes of this.

But, any way you look at it, you should take it to a vet.

He needs to go to the vet asap - this condition should not have been allowed to go on this long, eyes are very sensitive, and can be permanantly damged in a short amount of time.

Check www.herpvetconnection.com and www.arav.org for reptile vets in your general area, bear in mind that you may not need to find a vet that is as close as you would like, because reptile vets ar less common than small animal vets. Often you will have to drive a ways to find a vet, so look for vets in the surrounding area, not just your town.

the main thought here is that his eye is infected and needs treatment as long as the infection stays in his eye and clears up and as long as that is whats wrong with him he SHOULD come out of this alright hopefully with full use of his eye

A prognosis is something your vet will be able to give after the diagnosis has been made. It all depends on what is actually wrong, how bad it is, and how well he responds to treatment

LORD OF THE FROGS

"It began with the spawning of the great frogs. Three were given to the elves, Seven to the dwarf lords. And nine. Nine frogs were given to the race of men. For within these frogs was bound the strength and will to govern each race. But they were all deceived. For another frog was spawned. Deep in the Amazon rainforest the dark lord Sauron spawned a master frog to control all others. And in this frog he poured his cruelty his malice and his will to dominate all life. ONE FROG TO RULE THEM ALL." Lord of the Rings entry.

Yeah, What substarte are you using?  If it is an infection and is hopefully easily manageable with the help of your vet you may want to use a more "bark" substrate if your using more of a soil.  I know the kind with the cocnut fibers is pretty popular.  When I first started I used that type of substrate and my water dragon soon had a swollen eye.  After lots of observation I found during his digging habits he was getting that dirt in his eye and large amounts of it.  Luckily I caught it very early and avoided an infection but it took about 3 days of me flushing his eye with saline and wiping the dirt out several times a day.  After that i have switched to a bark type substrate and have no more issues and maintain the same humidity.  I hope all will be well. PLease keep us posted on the wellness of your baby.
