Three were given to the elves, Seven to the dwarf lords. And nine. Nine frogs were given to the race of men. For within these frogs was bound the strength and will to govern each race. But they were all deceived. For another frog was spawned. Deep in the Amazon rainforest the dark lord Sauron spawned a master frog to control all others. And in this frog he poured his cruelty his malice and his will to dominate all life. ONE FROG TO RULE THEM ALL." Lord of the Rings entry.

| I am not interested in the leopard gecko, sorry, just answering Lord of the Frogs's question. Yes, leopard geckos do need a heat lamp or heat pad that runs twelve hours a day (for heat lamps) and use a lot of energy that twelve hours or twenty-four hours a day (for heat pads) that don't use up as much energy per hour, but really add up when on all the time. There is no way to get around the heating needs of leopard geckos. Their basking spot should be above ninety degrees.
