A gorgeaus summer day could only be paired with herping.I explored around my yard. All I had was my camera,my eye for hiding animals, and a hope they wouldn't freak and run.I was outside for about and hour and a half and let me tell you I got a lot of dud pics.Only 5 pictures actually turned out good enough to be posted.

This little fella here was sitting in my neighbor's hose and that little dude sat still for quite a few pictures before leaving to do some lizard things.Only two though, were RC worthy.

This one is my favorite,I just love that it looks so professional. The brown anole is a little tricky to see on my tree, but that's the awesome part of it in my opinion.

Nice pics. I wish we had anoles here.

I probably shouldn't be complaining though. We have skinks, skinks, skinks, skinks, and more skinks. And I like skinks!

Ooh! I love skinks! I had a ground skink and I called it Garu Chura.(Don't ask what that means,it some thing my friend made up. )I had to give him away though, which stank, but he was a good pet for the short time I had him.

We have five-lined skinks and occasionally broad-headed skinks - I wish we had more broad-heads here, they are a lot more common further south. Supposedly, we also have little brown skinks, coal skinks, and six-lined racerunners, but I've never seen them.

I have seen eastern fence lizards - those lizards are have a good name, I see them all the time on fence posts! And of course I can't resist taking pictures.

I've heard that out of all the states in the US, Virginia has the least amount of snakes. But here I go complaining again! I see plenty of herps here - as a matter of fact, I just saw a red-orange hognose a few hours ago (and not to mention the five-lined skinks that live on the deck that I see regularly, and the fence lizards that are wonderful "picture lizards"…).

Oh dear, sometimes I complain too much!

Lol,my dad hates the fact that Florida has alot of snakes and I am the only one in the family that doesn't totally freak when snakes come.(My family has one or both of these two reactions;they get scared silly or get so excited a snake is on our property.)

That's funny! Thankfully, nobody in my family has a fear of reptiles, but I'm the only one who's really into herps…well, my sister does keeps some box turtles, so I guess I'm not the only one.

When I'm outside, sometimes I hear someone say "watch out for snakes!" My response is, "Of course I will!" Somehow I really don't think we are talking about the same thing.

Doesn't Michigan have a bunch of amphibs though? The only amphibs I see here are oak toads, fowler's toads, american toads, cuban tree frogs, green tree frogs, and cane toads.

Those are some nice looking lizards. Your lucky that you live in florida where herps are everywhere. up here where i am, you need to look your butt off just to see a salamander.

I live by Xtreme rules.

Ha, what can i say, some people have drugs, i have herps.

So, people call me a strange duck, ebay, killer, on the chain junky!!
