I'd like to know what your first herp was!
I usually say that my first herp was a Rough Green snake named Chloe (terrible choice too), but that is only because I always forget that I kept some frogs before that. I didn't know anything back then, so I don't remember what kind they were. Could have been cricket frogs, but I can't say for sure. I kept a lot of herps that year, but I really didn't know what I was doing.
Thankfully, I've come a long way!
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

| My first herp was a map turtle waaaay back when I was in 3rd grade.(1982,I think) I begged and studied untill my dad gave in. It only lived a few months. I still have the book on turtle care that I read, and nowhere does it mention UV and heat lamps, just water temperature and calcium suppliments. No wonder it died. After that, I stuck with hamsters.
