I bought crickets for my anoles in the beginning of August and the next day left for camp. I asked my mom to set them up in their 5 gallon terrarium before she joined me as a volunteer. The crickets arrived on a Wednesday and we returned that Friday at midnight. I was asleep but my mom found all the crickets dead. We left that Saturday morning at 4:30 AM for vacation and took I took my anoles with me. During vacation we caught crickets to feed them. They were fine.

Being away for almost two weeks, I left the anoles and snakes with her. We finally found time to call Fluker's this week and they told her that there was a 48 hour rule regarding problems. She explained to them our situation and that she understands rules are in place for a reason; however, there are exceptions to every rule. A supervisor named Jackie than began to question my mother and said that if it were her, she would have called while she was on vacation. Hello???? We in VT hiking. I don't have Fluker's number programed into my phone and there is no internet out in the woods!

As it stands, we are out $21 with zero crickets. Now you may be saying, "Well, it's only $21!" My point exactly!!! What's $21 to a big corporation who should do right by their customers, especially when they deliver a poor product. Our first shipment back in July was great but this one stunk! We will never purchase from them again.

FLUKER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS!!!

How does this make Flukers the bad guys? Thats like saying Serpenco sucks because they dropped off a corn snake at your door and you left it to roast in the sun for 2 days. It's your fault, not theirs.
That is also the number one rule when ordering anything live online, BE HOME on the day it gets there. If you're not, then it is your problem whatever happens to them. Not to say there haven't been instances with some companies that deliver and the person gets the crickets the moment they are delivered and discover all of them dead. That would be probably cause for a refund or something. But arriving two days late and expecting the crickets to be alive is ridiculous.

You are absolutely correct. However, either I didn't make myself clear or you misunderstood. I was away but my parent was home to accept the package. When she added them to the terrarium she found many passed. She gave them plenty of water, food and their egg crates prior to meeting me at camp within in a couple hours. She was going to let it go because things do happen in transit; however, coming home two days later to find them ALL dead is completely unacceptable. Do you disagree? If so, maybe your employed by Fluker's.

Oh no! The 250 crickets are in the 5 gallon. I keep the anoles in a 40 gallon foliage filled tank.

I would be questioning the parent then before the company, but I am biased because my mom would do anything she could to kill my reptiles short of taking a shovel to their heads and doing it herself...
If your mom really supports you and helps you out with yours then yes that is the companies problem and they should do something.
I did misunderstand, I thought no one was at home when the crix were delivered.

I do feel the need to add on however, that you shouldn't judge the company based on one bad experience. I have heard this same story over and over for most feeder supplying companies, many of which are highly regarded as being good quality suppliers. Sometimes things just happen and maybe it wasn't the companies fault. There are a lot of factors that could have caused this to happen. HOWEVER, if it happens repeatedly with the same company obviously they aren't a great supplier.
I'm trying to remember the name of the company a friend of mine used when he was breeding leos..... He would have orders of 5000 crickets or more to feed his breeders and never had any problems with them arriving dead, When I remember it i'll let ya know.

If you do remember the name of the company, I would appreciate it. Thank you for the help. My mom supports my love of reptiles and plays with my snakes. With the anoles, on two separate occasions she has saved the from death. One was choking and she had to remove the lodged food particle from Ash's mouth with tweezers and the other time she ran opal the vet when I was away.

Our previous experience was good with Fluker's and we were happy with their product; however, a true test of a reputable company is how they handle their customers when things go wrong. Policies are in place for a reason but let's be honest, there are exceptions to every rule and sometimes companies/people should care about the customer and not just their bottom line. Unfortunately, the supervisor we spoke to was incompetent and condescending to my mother. For someone in a Costumer Service position that is breaking rule 1. As a result, they lost us and a few of our friends as customers.
